Boston Terrier Facts
Origin: Developed in the late 1800s in Boston, Massachusetts
by crossing English Bull dogs and English Bull Terriers (more breeds of terriers and bull dogs were added along the way)
Great Grandparents' occupation: Although they were bred for Pitt fighting these little dogs were know as excellent family dogs due to their loyalty and friendly character.
Amazing but True: They were the first breed with origins in the USA to be recognized by the Kennel Clubs
Did you know: They were originally called Boston Bulldogs. Bulldog clubs objected since they did not resemble bulldogs so James Watson a noted writer suggested that they should get their own name/breed
